The Turnip cabbage “Brassica oleracea” is considered to be native to Asia; it was introduced and used by Greeks and Romans. In Italy is mainly grown in the southern regions and exported in the Nordic countries. It has pinnate leaves, bottom lobed, with a pale green colour. It presents a thickened stem that makes it look like a turnip. It is a very suitable food for diets because contains only 36 calories per 100 grams. Very filling, has great cleansing properties.
