This fruit is native to the city of “Susa” in Persia where it gets its common name. Plum is a drupe fruit derived from the tree belonging to the species of the genus Prunus and the family Rosaceae. It has a spherical shape, ovoid and elongated. Typically it has a dark blue color but can also be purple, red-purple, light green and light yellow. The flesh ranges from deep yellow to greenish. Each plum contains 35 calories per 100 grams, useful for anaemia and asthenia, it lowers the level of cholesterol and fights constipation by regulating intestinal function.
